Eric Luke Arendash is a graduate from Michigan Technological University in 1988 with a B.S. degree in Medical Technology and Microbiology minor. He is an American Board of Clinical pathologists certified Medical Technologist. He began his career in laboratory medicine with the U.S. Army as an officer and is combat war veteran. During his 10 years on active duty, he gained supervisory and managerial experience with nationally recognized accrediting bodies such as the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and the Joint Commission (JC) as early as 1992. After serving, he entered the employment with the federal government with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in August 1999 and worked as a CLIA surveyor and regulatory consultant in the Philadelphia Regional Office for over 20 years. During his time with CMS, he gained unique insight and perspectives in the CLIA law and regulations. He worked closely with lead staff at CMS headquarters to develop numerous trainings, policies, and opinions on new rules, most notably the Individualized Quality Control Plan (IQCP) in 2012 and is considered a national CLIA expert.

Throughout his 30-year career, Eric continually kept his pulse in the field through working in local hospitals on weekends and is also a certified General Laboratory CAP Inspector.

During the recent pandemic, Eric served a virology technical supervisor for RJ Lee, a nationally recognized industrial laboratory, that was providing advanced, state of the art rapid response COVID-19 PCR testing, just outside of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.

In June 2021, Eric founded Arendash Consulting Services, LLC., a company dedicated to providing moderate complexity lab directorships and quality focused technical consultant services to physician offices and small to large independent clinical laboratories.

Eric is able and willing to share his professional knowledge and unique regulatory insights with lab directors or owners looking for a qualified lab director or technical consultant for their moderate complexity clinical laboratory. He is able to provide expert technical advice and consulting in all laboratory areas except for Pathology specialties.
